Stephen B. Walker

Stephen B. Walker is the former lead on open government and open data initiatives for the Government of Canada, where he developed and implemented national policies, programmes, and infrastructure to advance open data. At the international level, Steve was directly involved in the original development of both the G8 Open Data Charter and the Open Data Charter. He has also chaired the Open Government Partnership’s Working Group on Open Data, worked extensively with the Open Data for Development (OD4D) network, and managed the International Open Data Conference. More recently, Steve works with the Data for Development Network D4D while running his own consulting company, True North Consulting, that specialises in advancing the use of data to address global development challenges. Tim Davies

Tim Davies is Director of Research and Practice at Connected by Data which campaigns for communities to have a powerful voice in data governance. He has been working on themes related to open data, open government, and data governance since 2009 as a researcher, activist, and social entrepreneur. He has led open data research for the World Wide Web Foundation, designed globally adopted open government data standards, co-founded the Open Data Services workers co-operative, and developed the first editions of the Open Data and Global Data Barometer projects. Mor Rubinstein

Mor Rubinstein is a data practitioner with a focus on data infrastructure development and fostering vibrant communities. She currently consults with governments and NGOs on the use of data for policymaking and change and previously served as the Head of Data Strategy at Parkinson`s UK, where she spearheaded initiatives to leverage data for innovative impact. Mor has held several pivotal positions, including Labs Manager at 360Giving, where she led efforts to enhance transparency in philanthropic grant-making through data openness, and Lead Researcher at Open Knowledge International`s Global Open Data Index, where she gained expertise in global data accessibility initiatives. Fernando Perini

Fernando Perini is a Senior Programme Specialist at Canada’s International Development Research Centre (IDRC), where he coordinates the Open Data for Development (OD4D) programme.
