    • Political Will for Gender Data in Sub-Saharan Africa

      The primary goal of this study was to gather insights to benefit stakeholders within the data ecosystem and enhance the collection and utilization of gender data, and commitments to gender data, by governments. The aim was to engage key actors in identifying opportunities to improve the enabling environment for the collection, use, and dissemination of gender data initiatives, as well as foster collaborative efforts to address the specific needs and challenges at hand.

    • Open Data for Development: Final Report 2020-2023

      This final report covers all three years of activities of Phase 3 of the Open Data for Development (OD4D) program from April 2020 to March 2023. The activities of Phase 3 have been funded by Global Affairs Canada, the William & Flora Hewlett Foundation, and the International Development Research Centre (IDRC). This report summarizes the achievements, lessons learned, key challenges, and mitigation strategies throughout Phase 3.

      This report discusses the importance of the oversight bodies in ensuring the proper implementation right to information (RTI) legislation through an examination of the Global Data Barometer's two indicators that evaluate the implementation of API laws, focusing on data relevant to Latin America. Several recommendations are shared to complement UNESCO's efforts for data collection (through the annual survey) and reporting on SDG indicator 16.10.2.
